Nora Cochrane McGuire
 Nora Cochrane McGuire, 89, passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at Hospice Cleveland County – Wendover.  A native of Mecklenburg she was the daughter of the late Roy and Nora James Cochrane.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Avery McGuire, Sr.; a son, Roy Dean McGuire; sister Alberta Cochrane Smith and her brothers Leonard and Ted Cochrane.  Mrs. McGuire was a member of Oakview United Methodist Church in High Point.  Her mother was a founder of the church.  Nora graduated from High Point High School.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to those who loved her.

Mrs. McGuire is survived by her son, James Avery McGuire, Jr. and wife Judy of Saunderstown, RI; two daughters, Valeria Jean McGuire of High Point and Shirley Ann Broughton and husband Joe of Shelby; two grandchildren, James A McGuire III and wife Stephanie of Muncie, IN and Audra Michelle Mann Lindh of High Point; two great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Michelle Mann and Scott Anthony Mann of High Point; and a sister, Carolyn Barker of High Point.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at the Chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory.  The Rev. David Blanton will be officiating.  Burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00am prior to the service.  At other times the family will be at the home of Shirley and Joe Broughton in Shelby.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorials are made to the Council on Aging Neal Senior Center, 100 TR Harris Drive, Shelby, NC 28150 or Hospice Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby, NC 28150.
