Mr. Norman Kenneth Porter, 71, of Kannapolis, NC, formerly of Charlotte, passed away Thursday, October 28, 2010. Services were held at Ascension Lutheran Church, 1225 E. Morehead Street, Charlotte, NC. Burial followed in Rose Hill Memorial Park, 342 Jim Cline Rd., Fallston.
Mr. Latham was preceded in death by his parents, C. Neal Porter and Gertrude Champion Porter; 1 son, Christopher N. Porter; 2 brothers, Albert Porter and Bob Porter; and 1 sister, Lucille Greene.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Brenda Falls Porter; 3 daughters, Stephanie P. Reavis and husband Derek and Jennifer P. Hitchner and husband Grant, all of Mooresville, NC, and Shelly P. Hutchison and husband Shane of Johnson City, TN; 1 brother, Gene Porter of North Augusta, SC; 2 sisters, Evelina P. Panther of Shelby and Joan P. Spencer of Kings Mountain; and 5 grandchildren.
