Norris Eugene Camp
Norris Eugene Camp, 80, of 104 Colonial Heights Drive, passed away Sunday, December 21st, 2014, at his residence.

Born in Blacksburg, he was the husband of Beverly Bridges Camp and the son of the late Mills Hunter Camp and Mamie Sanders Camp. Mr. Camp retired as a salesman of x-ray equipment for 20 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Blacksburg. He served in the US Army two years during the Korean Conflict and, as a reserve, four years. He attended Gardner-Webb College and Kings Business College. He was appointed Cherokee County Magistrate by Sen. Harvey Peeler. He attended the Criminal Justice Academy. Mayor David Hogue appointed Norris as Blacksburg Municipal Judge. He was named to the Blacksburg Football Hall of Fame in 2013. He graduated from Blacksburg High School. He was a Mason and a former member of Buffalo Lodge #202.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Camp is survived by one son, Todd Eugene Camp and wife, Kathy, of Wadesville, Indiana; two daughters, Michealle Carter of Blacksburg and Michelle Dubose of Kernerville, NC; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews., 

He was preceded in death by one brother, Jerry Rollins Camp, and two sisters, Kay Randle Camp and Billie Ann Boheler.

The family will receive friends on Monday, December 22nd, 2014, from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Blacksburg. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00 pm with Rev. Scott Hammett and Mr. David Hogue officiating. Private entombment will follow. Justin Leskanic, Jeremy Leskanic, Mills Hunter Camp, Richard Hope, Neal Dubose, and Joe Boheler will serve as pallbearers.
