Oliver Claxton "Buddy" Golden, 79, of 606 West Pine Street, passed away Tuesday, June 27th, 2017, at Mary Black Health System - Gaffney.

Born in Stokes County, NC, he was the husband of Catherine Pennington Golden and the son of the late Adam Golden and Lillie Kiser Golden. Mr. Golden retired as a Truck Driver and attended Garden Temple Assembly of God. He was in the Army National Guard.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Golden is survived by two sons, Gene Parris and wife, Kim, and Don Parris and wife, Lisa, both of Blacksburg; daughter, Dawn Childers of Blacksburg; two sisters, Doris Burgess of Ramseur, NC and Linda Thomsen and husband, Orville, of Mt. Home, Idaho; and eight grandchildren. Other children Richard and Valecia of North Carolina and some grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Carl Golden.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 1st, 2017, from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm at Garden Temple Assembly of God. Memorial services will immediately follow at 1:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Oliver Golden Funeral Fund, c/o Gordon Mortuary, PO Box 428, Blacksburg, SC 29702..
