Olivia V. Mobley,71, of 839 Logan St., departed this life on Sunday, November 29, 2015 at Carolina Continue Care Hospital in Kings Mountain NC. She was born on January 7, 1944 in Cleveland County NC to the late Lucious Hawk and Willie Mae Hawk.
Olivia grew up in the Flat Rock Community and graduated from Cleveland High School in Shelby NC. She worked many years for Sackville Mills, Cleveland Mall, and retired from Wal-Mart in Shelby NC. Olivia was known for her love of children, flowers, music, and a good book. There was never a dull moment when Ms. Olivia was around. She was witty, courageous, hilarious, and told it like it was.
She was preceded in death by her Father Lucious Hawk and brother Alton Hawk. She leaves to cherish her memory: her Mother, Willie Mae Hawk of Shelby NC; children, John A. Mobley(Shadonna) of Shelby NC, Michael Mobley(Sonja), and Leslie Mobley of Greensboro NC; siblings, Betty Smiley(Connel) of Shelby NC, Lillie Mae Mackey of Cherryville NC, Carolyn Weaver, Vivian Washington, Ava Sue Hawk, all of Shelby NC, Larry Hawk(Brenda) of Gaffney SC, Sherwood Hawk(Pearl) of Waxhaw NC, and Lisa Burris(Willie) of Bessemer City NC; six grandchildren, Ashley McCluney, Nashieka Brooks(Keith) of Shelby NC, DeAndra Mobley, Jarrett Mobley, Jerrell Mobley, Jevon Mobley all of Greensboro NC;
The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the funeral service
Funeral Services will be held at 11:30am, Saturday, December 5, 2015 at Roberts Tabernacle CME Church
Burial will take place at Sunset Cemetery
The family will be meeting at 115 Ross Grove Rd., Shelby
