Ollie Mae McGuirt, 87, a resident of Fair Haven Home, died on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at her residence. A native of Rutherford County, she was born on September 07, 1926, a daughter of the late Clarence and Lillie Bridges Martin. She retired from the Textile Industry and was a member of Concord Baptist Church. Mrs. McGuirt loved the Baptist Women’s Group and her Sunday School Class.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Joseph Lynn McGuirt; her brothers, David Martin, Wilbur Martin, Hurbert Martin, Garland Martin, Will Martin, Odus Martin, and Oliver Martin; her sisters, Aylene Edwards and Burthie Roberson; She is survived by one grandson, Benjamin McGuirt; three great-grandchildren, Travis McGuirt, Trent McGuirt, and Lindsey McGuirt; two sisters-in-law, Thelma Martin and Ruby Martin; one special niece, Wanda Simpson; numerous other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, September 13, 2013 at Concord Baptist Church with the Rev. Travis Laughlin officiating. Burial will follow in the Walls Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the Concord Baptist Church Sanctuary.
