Original Silhouettes Enhance Uptown Windows
Even though the second floor of Will & Tina Rucker’s building at 233 South Lafayette Street is used only for office and some storage for Pleasant City Woodfire Grill on the first floor, the Rucker’s were determined to see the second floor be a part of the lively Uptown scene. Local artist Rocky Yelton was commissioned to create windows that seemed to take the activity to the second floor, with silhouettes of diners, dancing, chefs, and staff in the middle of their jobs. With panels that include both dark and light backgrounds, the ten windows have artfully directed the eyes of passersby to look at the entire building.
