Parksie Gus Chapman, 84, of 4193 Mt. Gilead Church Rd., Connelly Springs,
passed away Tuesday September 26, 2017 at home.

Born February 11, 1933 in Burke County, he was a son of the late Gus Chapman
and Sarah Lail Chapman. He was retired from Krayola Furniture in Conover and
was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Susan
Chapman Cook and Donna Renee Chapman, granddaughter, Donna Renee Hudson;
brother, Lester Chapman, two sisters, Minnie Smith and Marie Towery.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Ruth Cook Chapman; son, Allen
Chapman and wife, Sandra; brother, Earl Chapman; grandchildren, Darrell
Cook, Wesley Chapman, Daniel Hudson, Eric and Chris Herman; great
grandchildren, Waylon Chapman, Noah Chapman, Kaitlyn Herman, Ritz Herman,
Jacob and Jarrett Herman and Kenzie Herman.

The visitation will be 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Saturday at Zion Hill Baptist
Church.

The funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Saturday at Zion Hill Baptist Church
with Rev. Billy Mace officiating.

Burial will follow in Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
