Patricia "Patsy" Ballenger Evans Day , 65, of 175 Bee's Branch Road, Blacksburg, SC, started a brand new healthy life on March 17, 2015. She is the wife of of David Day of the home and was a daughter of the late Lee and Geneva Ballenger of Gastonia, NC. She worked for the USPS at the GMF in Charlotte, NC, for 15 years. She retired from the Dept. of Corrections in Spartanburg, SC. She was blessed with many friends and much happiness.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 29 years, David, who has taken such good care of her during her lenghty illness. She is also survived by her wonderful children - Jennipher Cordle, Meredith Meeler and James Day; her grandchildren - Jarrett Day of the home, Zachery Cordle, Michael Meeler, Joshua Meeler, Kayla Logan and Jacob Day; a sister - Aletha Gilliam; nieces and nephews; and two life-long friends, Edie Thompson and Sharon Tinker. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Tommy Evans, of Belmont, NC, and her brother, Boyce Ballenger.
The family will receive friends Thursday, March 19, 2015, from 9-10:00 AM, at White Columns Funeral Service. A Celebration Of Life Memorial Service will begin at 10:00 AM, with Rev. Scott Hammett officiating. Per Patsy's wishes, informal attire may be worn. At other times, the family will be at their respective homes.
In lieu of flowers, Patsy also requested donations be made to your local Diabetes Foundation.
