Patricia Patterson Hughey, 75, of Blacksburg, SC, passed away Tuesday, March 1st, at her home. A native of Blacksburg, she was the daughter of the late Little and Louise Patterson. She was married for 54 years to the late Eddie Dale Hughey. Patricia graduated from Blacksburg High School and had retired from Hoeschst Celanese in Shelby, NC. A member of Cherokee Falls Baptist Church, she was a Sunday School teacher and Vacation Bible School teacher of children grades 1st-5th. A devoted homemaker, Patricia loved to cook for her family and friends, especially their birthday cakes and for the holidays. She made special effort to bake a Teddy Bear birthday cake for as many of the children as she could each year and was a talented artist.
Cherishing her legacy are son Timothy Dale Hughey and daughter-in-law, Tammy, daughter, Juanita Hughey Humphries and son-in-law, Todd Humphries. In addition to her children, she is cherished by brothers; Dale, Ricky, Danny and Jimmy Patterson and sister, Tammie Patterson, and several cousins, nieces and nephews as well as 3 special sister- in-laws; Penny H. Patterson (Mark), Tillie H. Cook (Jim), and Jill H. Price (Bill).
The family will receive friends Thursday, March 3, 2022, from 3:00-4:00pm at Cherokee Falls Baptist Church. A Celebration of Life service will immediately follow at 4:00, at the church, with Rev. Tim Knotts officiating. Entombment will follow at Clingman Memorial Gardens.
The Deacons of Cherokee Falls Baptist Church will serve as pallbearers.
At other times the family will be at the residence at 1052 99 Island Road, Blacksburg.
