Mrs. Patsy “Pat” Goins Hood, age 79, of Covenant Village, Gastonia, formerly of Bates Ave., Cherryville, died Saturday, December 29, 2012 at her residence. Pat was born March 14, 1933, in Burke County, N. C., daughter of the late William and Eva Ritchie Goins. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a member of the First Baptist Church, Cherryville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years Charles James “C.J.” Hood, two brothers, Bernard Goins and Ronell Goins, and a sister, Ponese Goins Apple.
Survivors include her daughter, Cindy H. Clark, of Belmont, a granddaughter, Megan Heavner Price and husband Jason of Belmont, two great grandchildren, Charlie and Katie Price of Belmont.
Funeral Services will be held at First Baptist Church of Cherryville on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at 2:30 PM with Rev. Dr. Vince Hefner officiating. Burial will follow the service in City Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends January 1, 2013 at Carpenter’s Funeral Home of Cherryville from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.
