Patsy “Pat” Marie Putnam Johannessen, 77, passed away on Monday, February 4, 2013 at the Wendover Hospice House.  A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Jesse Malcolm and Laura Etta McSwain Putnam.  She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Inez Connor, Lena Baker, Jessie Wall; brothers, Jimmie Putnam, John Putnam, William Putnam, Sam Putnam.  Patsy was an active member of Polkville Baptist Church.  She worked for PPG Industries.  She was a wonderful cook, loved children, working in the yard and cutting grass.  Patsy loved to travel, enjoyed the west coast and especially the Bald Mountains.

Patsy is survived by her husband of 38 years, Howard Johannessen; two sons, Robert Greene and wife Jenny of Shelby, Gary Greene and wife Tina of Shelby; two grandchildren, Ashley Conley and Laney Greene; three great grandchildren, Abby Greene, Ayden Conley, A.J. Conley; sisters, Della Walker of Lattimore, JoAnn Bridges of Ellenboro, Jean Farabee of High Point, Diane Padgett of Lattimore; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, February 7, 2013 at Polkville Baptist Church.  The Rev. Rick Hamrick will be officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:30pm on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at Cecil M Burton Funeral Home and Crematory.  At other times the family will be at the home.
