Paul James King
Paul James King, age 62, of Dale Dr. died Saturday, July 5, 2014 at Caromont Regional Medical Center.  He was born on October 5, 1951 in Forsyth County, a son of the late Alvis King and Virginia Cook Morrow.  He graduated from South Dade High School in Homestead, Fl.  Paul was a retired police officer from Cherryville Police Department.  He was a Vietnam Veteran of the US Navy serving on the US Capadano DE-1093 and a member of the VFW.  Paul was also formerly employed by the NC Department of Corrections in Lincoln County.  He was a NC Certified Sniper, NC Firearms Instructor, and his greatest passion was target shooting.
 
 
 
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Sharon Hamrick King; daughters, Shannon King Richardson (James), and Mellissa King Fecteau (David) both of Cherryville; son, Christopher King (Heather) of Cherryville; brothers, Pete Hamrick (Sandy) of Cherryville, and Louie Troutman of Lexington; sister, Pam Temple (Paul) of Lexington; and grandchildren, Kyle and Devan Richardson, Logan Noles, Michael Sweat, Bailey Fecteau, and Zane King all of Cherryville.
 
 
 
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 7, 2014 at 7:30 PM at Carpenter’s Funeral & Cremation Services with Rev. Jerry Lail officiating.  Full military honors will be conducted. Burial will be private.  The family will receive friends on Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
