Paul Wilburn Navey

Paul Wilburn Navey, 81, of Borders Road, Shelby, passed away Saturday,
February 21, 2015 at Charles George VA Medical Center in Asheville.

He was born in Cleveland County on, September 16, 1933, to the late Ernest
Victor Navey and Pauline Bridges Navey. He was retired from Doran Textiles,
and received a degree in auto mechanics from Cleveland Tech. He served in
the US Air Force, from 1951 through 1955, during the Korean Conflict. He
was a member of Hudson Memorial Baptist Church, The VFW Post 8030 and was
the adopted veteran for the Lady's Auxiliary Post 4066, 2014-2015. He
coached little league baseball for the Lawndale Hustlers from 1983 to 1987,
and he was a huge Richard Petty fan.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a granddaughter Angel
Ramsey; two brothers, Ernest "Gene" Navey and Donald Navey; sister-in-law,
Betty Navey; brother-in-law, Eddie Harrill.

He is survived by his son, Paul "Tony' Navey and wife Kim of Cleveland,
daughter Patricia Navey and Bobby Ramsey of Shelby; brother, James Navey and
wife Sarah of Gastonia; sister, Patricia Harrill of Shelby; sister-in-law,
Bernice Navey of Stanley; four grandchildren, Scottie Ramsey of Johnson
City, TN, William Navey and wife Teresa of Cleveland, Jason Navey and wife
Miranda of Polkville, and Robert Ramsey and wife Cynthia of Shelby; seven
great grandchildren, Ashton Hagger, Dalton, Angel, Tristen, and Jordan
Ramsey, Christopher and Bailey Navey; numerous nieces and nephews; special
friend Marilyn Giffin of Shelby; and special friends at Arby's, and Shelby
Police Department.

Visitation, 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday, Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home &
Cremation Center, Inc., Fallston. Condolences may be made online at

home of Patricia Harrill, 1463 New House Road, Shelby, NC 28150

Funeral Services, 2:00 PM, Tuesday, at Hudson Memorial Baptist Church, 762
Warlick Road, Lawndale. The body will be placed in the church thirty minutes
before the service.

Officiating, Rev. Jerry Hudson, Rev. Homer Tessneer.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
