Pauline Neal Heavner
Pauline Neal Heavner, age 87 of Hershel Lackey Rd. passed away Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Lincolnton Rehabilitation. A native of Lincoln County, she was born June 24, 1930, to the late Dorse and Julia Cook Neal. Pauline was a member of Gainsville Baptist Church since 1962 and a former Sunday School teacher. She retired from the textile industry, working 17 years at Dora Mill, 17 years at Mohican Lace Plant, and various other mills. She was also a wonderful caregiver who continued taking care of others until the age of 83. She volunteered with Hospice of Lincoln County. Pauline was also an excellent homemaker who enjoyed cooking and sewing.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death her husband, J.B. Heavner; daughter, Linda Paulette Heavner; son-in-law, Bob Rudisill; and siblings, Charlie Neal, Carl Neal, Ruth Williams, June Neal, Warren Neal, Warlick Neal, and J.B. Neal.
Survivors include her children, Ronny Heavner and Sherry of Lincolnton, Nancy Rudisill of Lincolnton, Michael Heavner and Evelyn of Woodbine, MD, and Jerry Heavner and Brenda of Vale; grandchildren, Ryan Heavner, Eric Rudisill, Ellen Wilson, Hannah Vassey, Amanda Heavner, and Anna Gaddis; great grandchildren, Tavia, Rilee, and Salem Wilson, Noah, Lucas, and Seth Rudisill, Madison Vassey, Aurora, Margaret, and Morgan Gaddis; sisters, Mary Sain and Prue Thornburg; and sisters-in-law, Faye Heavner and Bessie Neal.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Gainsville Baptist Church with Rev. Brad Painter, Rev. Barry Devine, and Rev. Daniel Woody officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6:30 to 8:30 PM at Carpenter-Porter Funeral & Cremation Services.
