Peggy Marie Burch Barrett, 78, went to be with her Lord Jesus on Wednesday, May 02, 2012 at Hospice Cleveland County – Wendover facility.  A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Henry Burch and Pearl Hartsoe Burch Camp Powell.  Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Carol Borders, Ann Moss, Lucille Black, and brothers, Tom Burch, Jim Burch, Ben Burch, and Phil Camp.  Mrs. Barrett was an active member of Ross Grove Baptist Church.  She retired from Bridges Market.  Peggy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who loved to read, bake, travel, and gather with her family and friends.

Mrs. Barrett is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Charles Glen Barrett Jr.; children, Marion Lynn Wetherbee and husband Gary of Milton, Fl, Gloria Jane Jung and husband Tim of Greenwood, SC, Charles Timothy Barrett and wife Ann of Cherryville, NC, Phillip Paul Barrett and wife Anita of Shelby; 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at Ross Grove Baptist Church.  The Rev. Josh Hunt will be officiating.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. on Friday, May 4, 2012 at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory.  At other times the family will be at the home of Tim and Ann Barrett, 705 East Main Street, Cherryville, NC.
