Peggy Shealy Ramey

Peggy Shealy Ramey, 86, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on April 26, 2022 at White Oak Manor in Kings Mountain, NC.

She was born in Spartanburg County, SC, daughter of the late Frank Mathias and Helen May Shealy and was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, Burris Endel Ramey. Peggy was also preceded in death by her brother, Gerald Shealy and a grandson, Justin Endel Ramey. She was a longtime member of Central United Methodist Church. Peggy began playing piano in church at the age of 12 and continued her musical service to the faith community her entire life. She was a wonderful baker and an avid daily Bible reader. Her knowledge of scripture was a blessing not only to Peggy but to everyone around her. Peggy's love of people was evidenced by her ability to make friends in a matter of minutes. She never met a stranger and enjoyed talking with anyone. Peggy's life was a profession of her faith and her gracious and loving spirit will be missed by many. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who loved her family with all that her heart could give. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at White Oak Manor for the wonderful care, kindness and love shown to Peggy during her stay.

SURVIVORS: Children: Buddy Ramey (Lisa), Kings Mountain, NC, Melanie Ramey Gordon (Bob), Charlotte, NC, Sheila Ramey-Yokeley, Charlotte, NC, and Faye Ramey Kerns (Clyde), Kings Mountain, NC

Grandchildren: Zachary Ramey (Evan), Brittany Ramey, Chad Gordon, Connor Gordon (Ramey), Jordan Asseff (Ben), Jey Yokeley (Dani Seaford), Alyson Gray (Joey), Ramey Bridges (Matt), and Clay Kerns (Ashley)

Great-Grandchildren: Carsley, Ava James, Livingston, Chase, Stella, John, Emmett, Mary-Allen, Tad, Bexley, Maren, and Crouse

MEMORIAL SERVICE: The family will hold a Celebration of Life service on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Central United Methodist Church with Pastor Bruce Gwyn officiating

VISITATION: immediately following the service in the sanctuary of the church
