Pennie Ann Barger Hoyle

Pennie Ann Barger Hoyle, 55, 118 St. Peters Church Road, passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2013, at Carolina Rehab Center of Burke.

She was born on April 8, 1958, in Catawba County to Ann Herron Barger of Hickory and the late Homer Ray Barger.  She worked for the City of Hickory Police Department, Hickory Public Schools and retired from State Services in March 2013. She was a member of St. Peters United Methodist Church.  Pennie enjoyed reading, putting puzzles together, entertaining friends and loved going to the beach.  She also had a very generous nature and was considered a second “Mama” to all of her nieces and nephews.

In addition to her father she was preceded in death by her father and mother-in-law, Jack and Wilma Hoyle and a nephew, Jamie Walls.

Survivors include her mother, Ann; husband of 18 years, Joseph “Joe” Lemuel Hoyle; brother, Tony Barger and wife, Elaine of Fredricksburg, VA; two sisters, Billie Briggs and husband, John and Tracy Sigmon and husband, Mark all of Conover; brother-in-law, Billy Hoyle and wife, Debbie of Belwood; sister-in-law, Jane Hoyle and husband, Steve of Shelby; and numerous loving nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

Visitation: The family will receive friends on Wednesday immediately following the service in St. Peter's United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall.

Funeral Service:  2:00 PM, on Wednesday at St. Peters United Methodist Church, Belwood.  The body will be placed in the church an hour before the service.
