| Mr. Perry Lelan Randolph, 72, of 28 Raft Place in Shelby, died on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center in Shelby. A native of Cleveland County, he was born on February 8, 1939 to the late Willie Wilson and Carrie Mae Whitner Randolph. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Stevey Randolph, by two late sisters, Ellen Ollis and Mildred Swanson; and by three late brothers, Junior, Nat, and Joe Randolph.
He was a retired farmer and pulpwooder. Mr. Randolph was a member of Goode's Grove Baptist Church in Mooresboro.
Mr. Randolph is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Barbara Ann Baley Randolph; by sons, Larry Lelan Randolph and Steven Charles Randolph, both of Shelby. He is also survived by his brother, Robert Blair Randolph of Shelby; by grandchildren, Candie Randolph of Myrtle Beach, SC, Adam Randolph of Shelby, by Richard Burgess of Shelby, and Jessica Randolph of Shelby; by two great-grandchildren, Alexia and Wylan Cooper. Also surviving are four sisters, Marie Sandus, Maxine Lail, Brenda Storie, and Ann Oaks. He is also survived by special friends Connie Fite of Gaffney, Mandy Langley Williams of Shelby; and by a daughter-in-law, Elizabeth McSpadden.
The family will receive friends at McKinney-Landreth and Carroll Funeral on Sunday January 15, 2012 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. A funeral service celebrating the life of Mr. Randolph will be held at Goode's Grove Baptist Church in Mooresboro at 2:00 PM on Monday, January 16, 2012. The body will lie in state for 30 minutes prior to the service. Interment will follow the funeral service at Morning Star Baptist Church Cemetery in Forest City, NC.
