| Phillip Charles Southard passed away quietly on Monday, January 5, 2015. He was born February 1, 1948 in Cleveland County to the late C. L. Southard and the late Nell Jones Southard. In addition to his parents his longtime companion Nancy Teasley Moore preceded him in death.
He is survived by his sister, Kathy S. Leahy and husband John of Shelby, NC; brother, Brad C. Southard of Boone, NC; and a special cousin Jonan H. Shelton and husband Rick of Shelby, NC.
He graduated from Shelby High School in 1966 and later attended Central Piedmont Community College. He was a licensed realtor for many years. He served his country in the Naval Reserves for four years.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, January 9, 2015 at Webb Chapel at First Baptist Church in Shelby, NC with Rev. Tony Tench officiating. The family will receive friends in the church Ladies Parlor one hour before the service. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery with Military Honors.
