Phyllis Blanton Norman

Phyllis Blanton Norman, affectionately known to those who loved her as "Punkin," of Rutherford County, North Carolina passed away on August 12, 2026, at the age of 57.
Punkin was one of a kind. She was funny, strong-willed, and wonderfully stubborn, with a personality that could fill a room. She loved dogs and treasured the simple things in life, especially spending time with her friends and family. Those who knew Punkin knew there was never a dull moment when she was around. She could make you laugh, speak her mind without hesitation, and leave you with a story you would remember for years to come.
More than anything, Punkin loved the people who were a part of her life. Her presence, her laughter, and even that stubborn streak that made her uniquely Punkin will be deeply missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Norman and Judy Norman.
Punkin leaves behind three sons: Richard Waters of Forest City, North Carolina, and his daughters, Serienity Waters and Daisy Waters; Mark Norman of Chicago, Illinois, and his children, Nathan Norman and Aubrey Norman; and Ryan Norman, and his children, Ryan Norman Jr. and Jasmine Norman.
She is also survived by her brother, John Norman and his wife, Debbie, of Bostic, North Carolina; her sister, Loretta and her husband, Todd, of Spindale, North Carolina; as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who loved her deeply.
Punkin's passing leaves an emptiness that words cannot completely describe. While her family would give anything for one more laugh, one more conversation, or even one more stubborn disagreement, they will carry the memories she gave them for the rest of their lives.
"A sister may leave this world, but she never leaves the hearts of those who loved her. Her laughter becomes a memory, her love becomes a treasure, and her place in the family remains hers forever."
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no funeral service. Instead, she asked to simply be remembered by those who loved her, in their own way and in their own time.
Punkin will not be remembered simply for the day she left us, but for the 57 years of laughter, love, memories, and unforgettable moments she gave to everyone, fortunate enough to know her.
Rest peacefully, Punkin.
You were deeply loved, you will be greatly missed, and you will forever be a part of us.
