Preston Dee Guffey 82 of Union Mills passed away on April 30, 2019. After retiring from Drexel, Preston loved to play golf, garden and do needlework. He was a devoted member of Cane Creek Baptist Church where he served in many capacities but most notably as a Sunday School teacher for over sixty five years.

Preston was the son of the late James and Dora Owens Guffey. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Ethel Guffey and daughters Jean Scruggs (Audrey), Joan Watson (Malcolm), and Lynn Osteen (Terry), grandchildren, Chad Scruggs (Melanie), Beth Smith (Steven), Jake Watson (Amie), Josh Scruggs (Josie), Tommy Watson (Julie), Timmy Osteen (Jessica) and Emily Mullins (Chris). Preston also has eighteen great grandchildren and a brother Ronald Guffey. He was preceded in death by his brothers JC Guffey, Omar Guffey, John Guffey, Arnold Guffey, Leroy Guffey, and a sister Sue McCurry.

A visitation is planned for Friday May 3, 2019 from 1:30-3PM at Cane Creek Baptist Church in the sanctuary and the service will begin at 3PM with the Rev. Danny Camp officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
