Bessemer City - Mrs. Rachel Bess Harris, 78, of 141 Miles Bess Road, passed
away on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Peak Resources in Cherryville.

Mrs. Harris was born in Gaston County, NC on October 22, 1936 a daughter of
the late Everett Bess and Modell Davis Bess. She was retired after working
in Textiles and was a member of Mt. Beulah Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 29 years, Eugene Harris of the home; a son
and daughter-in-law, Johnny Bell and Mollie; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary
Guin and Danny all of Bessemer City; two step-sons, Robert Harris of
Gastonia, Joey Harris and wife Tiffany of Kings Mountain; three
step-daughters, Dawn Wright of Waco; Ellen Beattie and husband Mike of Kings
Mountain and Susan Garren of Kings Moutain; a brother, Hugh Lee Bess of
Bessmer City; two sisters, Helen Burleson of Georgia and Rita Head of
Bessemer City; 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Monday, March 2, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00PM at
Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home & Cremation Service.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at 2:00PM at Mt
Beulah Baptist Church in Bessemer City with the Rev. Fain Farmer
officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
