SHELBY- Rachel Bridges Greene, 88, died Sunday, August 9, 2018 at Atrium Health- Shelby. A native of Cleveland Co., she was born to the late J.C. and Tula-Bell Bridges. She was a lifetime member of Eastside Baptist Church. Rachel was an active volunteer at the Neal Senior Center for over 25 years. She was an avid sportswoman including horseback riding, dancing and bowling. She closely followed the Atlanta Braves and Carolina Panthers. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend will be greatly missed by all.

PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, George Greene; ten siblings; and her first grandchild, Nicole.

SURVIVED: She is survived by her sons Jimmy Greene of Gastonia, Phil Greene of St Petersburg, Fl. and Troy Greene and wife Kristin of Shelby; daughter Gloria Chastain and husband Chad of Shelby; sister Louise Beaubien of Hickory; brother Ray Bridges and wife Becky of Shelby; grandchildren Gena, Jackson, Emily, Kelly, Candice and Christian; great grandchildren Hunter, Braden, Ava, Aubrey, Paisley and George.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

FUNERAL SERVICES: will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, August 13, 2018 at Eastside Baptist Church

OFFICIATING: Rev. Dale Byrd

BURIAL: will follow the service at Cleveland Memorial Park
