| Rachel Walker Lail, 72, of Shelby passed away on Monday, May 13, 2013. The funeral services will be held at 11 o'clock in the morning on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at Sandy Plains Baptist Church. Pastor Jerry Lail will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour before the funeral, with burial following. Arrangements will be handled by Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home. Rachel was born in Shelby on August 5, 1940 to Lawson Elmo and Almera Price Walker. She graduated from Polkville High School and then the University of Florida. Rachel worked as a Certified Dietary Manager and Food Protection Professional for Fair Haven Home for 17 years. Rachel is survived by by Alan and Sandra Lail, Darrell and Morgan Rice, and Shannon Lail of Mount Pleasant, SC; Patti and Melanie Allen of Ellabell, GA; Alan and Rachel Manuszak of Sumter, SC; Lee and Kara Lail and Lindsay Luckadoo of Ellenboro; and other family and friends. Rachel was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Nancy Rebecca Walker. Rachel loved the Lord and attended Bethel Baptist Church in Shelby. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to Hospice of Rutherford County. The family wishes to thank Fair Haven Home for all their consideration and love during this time.
