Ralph Carroll Rhoney
 Ralph Carroll Rhoney, 72, of 3675 Wellman Road, Vale, died Tuesday, October
4, 2011 at Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory.

Born February 27, 1939 in Catawba County, he was a son of the late John
Calvin and Buna Jeanette Rhoney.  Mr. Rhoney graduated from Fred T. Foard
High School in 1957.  He went into the plastering trade work for C.H. Rhoney
Company for 25 years, worked for North West Drywall for several years and
finished his trade doing the plaster work at Broughton Hospital for 11 years
where he retired.  Mr. Rhoney  worked 6 years as a deputy Sheriff for
Catawba County and was a member of Catawba County Planning Board for 20
years.  He was a lifelong member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church where
he was a certified Lay Speaker and taught Sunday school for 50 years.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Vernon
Rhoney and Earl Rhoney; and one sister, Myrtle Rhoney Wellman.

Survivors: include his wife of 55 years, Ruth Willis Rhoney; two sons, Dan
Rhoney of Atlanta, Georgia and Jim Rhoney and wife, Sandra of Vale; two
grandchildren, Evan and Eric Rhoney both of Vale; and a brother, Murl Rhoney
of Vale.

Visitation: 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM, Friday, Stamey Funeral Home, Fallston.

Funeral Service: 1:00 PM, Saturday,  Ebenezer United Methodist Church, Vale.

Officiating: Rev. Tony Sayer

Interment: Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery
