Ralph Edward Hunt, age 66 died Monday April 28, 2014 at his home. Born in Cleveland County on March 29, 1947 he was the son of Sarah Elizabeth Cook Hunt  of Casar and the late John Wakefield Hunt. Ralph was a member of Mt. Moriah United Methodist Church and he worked at Bost Bakery for many years until it closed.  Ralph enjoyed watching Nascar. In addition to his father, Ralph is preceded in death by his first wife, Kathy Fitch, and a sister-in-law Dot Hunt.

Ralph is survived by his wife of 5 years, Connie Odoms Hunt; a step son, Michael Wimbush Jr.; two step daughters, Michelle Odoms of Shelby and Vernell Odoms of Gastonia; two sisters, Ruth Bowman and husband Pearlie and Shirley Nalley and husband Wyman all of Casar; three brothers, Clyde Hunt of Morganton, Ophus Hunt and wife Millie of Casar, and J.W. Hunt and wife Mima of Polkville; a step grandson, Jackson Odoms; and two brothers-in-law, Randy Fitch of Raleigh and John Fitch of Lattimore.

Funeral services will be held on Friday May 2, 2014 at 1:00pm  at Mt. Moriah United Methodist Church with Rev. David Minor officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday  from 10:00am until 11:00am at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory before the service.
