Ralph Wilks Jefferies

Ralph Wilks Jefferies, 85, of Waco, NC passed away Wednesday September 6, 2023 at 2:25 AM at Wendover Hospice House in Shelby, NC.

He was born in South Carolina on November 4, 1937 to the late Rosemond Jefferies and Martha Byrd Jefferies.

Ralph was baptized at an early age at Zion Hill missionary baptist, in Cherryville, NC. Where he sang on the youth choir. He worked at the Doran yarn textile for thirty-five years before retiring. He also worked at Ingles ( Patterson Springs and Dixon Blvd.) where he also retired.

He had a passion for cars, including driving, mechanics and restorations. He was well known and loved by his family and those in the community. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and endless moments with his grandchildren. He was a kindhearted spirt and loved riding to his old stomping grounds.

Ralph was ready to be reunited with his mother, father 5 sisters Evoyn Cline, Gracie Drumman, Corine Dawkins, Ruby Richardson, Lennie Tate and 3 brothers Sand Jefferies, Chrile Byrd and Robert Byrd.

Ralph is survived by his loving wife, Doris Virginia Foster Jefferies of 62. He also has two daughters Jemeka Jefferies and Sherry Ford; five grandchildren Kendra Ford, Siedah Ford, Jada Ford, Jamarion Jefferies and Timone Jefferies; three great grandchildren Janiyah Ford, Jaylen Ford, Airiyah Ford; one sister Bessie Lattimore; two brothers Charles Davis (wife Evelina Davis); Thomas Lee Davis (wife Georgia David), three brother-in laws Joe Foster, John Foster, Bobby Dawkins, Lee Thomas Cline; and two sister-in laws Peggy Dawkins, Carrie Foster, and Barbara Jefferies.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 11, 2023 at 1:30 pm at Zion Hill Baptist Church, Cherryville, Burial will take place at the church cemetery. Condolences can be expressed online at www.enloemortuary.com.
