Mr. Ray Arndt, 82, of Shelby, NC, passed away Thursday, November 18, 2010. Services were held at First Baptist Church Sanctuary, Shelby, NC. Burial followed in Cleveland Memorial Park.
Mr. Arndt served our country in the U.S. National Guard.
He was preceded in death by parents, A.H. “Bud” Arndt and Mary Tuttle Arndt; and 1 sister, Elizabeth Ervin.
He is survived by his wife, Rachel Clay Magness Arndt; 2 daughters, Mary Lynn Copus and husband Scott of Winston-Salem, NC, and Beverly LaBoone and husband Danny of Acworth, GA; 6 grandchildren; 1 sister, Nellie Barringer and husband Bill of Conover, NC; 4 brothers-in-law, John Ervin of Morganton, NC, Larry Clay and wife Betty, Michael Clay and wife Ingrid, Ronald Clay, Roger Clay and wife Ann, and Dick Clay and wife Patty; 1 sister-in-law, Jan Taylor and husband Ed; and numerous special nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: First Baptist Church Co-Ed Sunday School Class, c/o Martha Goforth, 205 Pleasant Ridge Church Road, Shelby, NC 28152.
