Raymond Edward Epley, 69, of 424 Golden Valley Road, Casar, died Monday,
August 12, 2013 at his residence.
Born March 8, 1944 in Burke County, he was a son of the late Roy Edward
Epley and Elsie Nervin Beaver Epley. He worked for the NC Department of
Transportation as a truck driver and he was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist
Church. Raymond was an avid deer hunter.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Ronnie Epley and Michael
Hudson for everything that they have done.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers, Jack
Epley, Jim Epley, Marion Bivins and John Bivins; and three sisters, Faye
Farmer, Ethel Costner and Ruby Benefield.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn McCombs Epley; three sons, Edward Epley
of Gaffney, Ronald Epley of Charlotte and Donald Epley of Hildebran;
stepson, Max C. Ledford of Lawndale; three daughters, Wanda Wease of Love
Valley, NC, Maxine Martin of Granite Falls, SC and Tammy Epley of Newton;
brother, Wayne Bivins of Morganton; sister, Margie Hudson of Casar; and
numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation: 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM, Wednesday at Stamey Funeral Home, Fallston.
At other times the family will be at the home of Margie & Johnny Hudson,
118-1 Jesse Mountain Road, Casar, NC.
Funeral Service: 2:00 PM, Thursday at Stamey Funeral Home Chapel, Fallston
