Rebecca “Becky” Shuford Wimbush

Mrs. Rebecca “Becky” Shuford Wimbush, 65, of 820 Earl Rd. Apt. 5A departed this earthly life on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center in Shelby. She was born as the third eldest child of William and Lula Boyce Shuford on August 25, 1948 in Cleveland County, NC. 

 

Becky, as she was fondly called, was a member of Philadelphia United Methodist Church where she volunteered for various activities throughout the years.  She was retired from Carpenters and Company in Longview, NC after over 30 years of employment.  A straight-forward but, kindhearted person, Becky enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and doing crossword puzzles.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Wimbush, Jr.; a brother, Wyvan Boyce and a sister, Betty Jean McCune.

 

She leaves to cherish her memory, one son, Michael Wimbush of Shelby; three daughters, Pamela Petty (Terry) of Shelby, Tabitha Robinson (Rodney) of Boiling Springs, NC and Sonya Pryor (David) of Shelby; two brothers, William “Steve” Shuford of Lawndale, NC and Cecil Shuford of Shelby; six sisters, Catherine Reynolds (William), Mattie Wells (Donald), Patricia Fullove, Forrestine Hoper (Jasper) and Angela Shuford all of Lawndale; six grandchildren, Michael Wimbush, Jr., Loutisha Williamson, Laterris Petty, Jamarcus Schenck, Davion Pryor and Shakiya Pryor; three great-grandchildren; her mother-in-law, Mary Wimbush of Lawndale; two special nieces, Monsonya Ruff and Angela Petty both of Shelby; one aunt, Mary Boyce of Kingstown, NC; four brothers-in-law, Roy Wimbush, Roger Wimbush and Bobby Wimbush all of Lawndale and Tommy Wimbush (Carolyn) of Shelby; two special friends, Von Mauney and Bronda King both of Shelby and a host of additional nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

 

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at 3:00 PM at First Baptist Church in Lawndale with Pastor Aldana Allen officiating.  Burial will take place Philadelphia United Methodist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 2:30 until 3:00 PM on Tuesday and at other times at the home of her daughter, Pamela Petty, 2406 Ellis Rd. in Shelby.
