Reedie Everette Rose

SHELBY - Reedie Everette Rose, 98, left for his heavenly home on June 12, 2016, at Wendover Hospice. He was born on May 10, 1918 in Allegheny County, one of nine children born to Floyd and Sallie Williams Rose.

He was a World War II Army Veteran and served on the European front. After the war, he moved to Hartford County, Maryland, where he worked for Bata Shoe Company as a foreman for 20 years and later worked in construction. He loved gardening and grew large amounts of fruits and vegetables that he generously shared with family and friends. For the last 14 years, he lived in Cleveland County, near his daughter and family. He was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Blanche Bare Rose; and one grandson, Stephen Blair; and six of his siblings.

He is survived by one daughter, Joan Bridges and husband Mack of Shelby; one grandson, Daniel Blair of Boiling Springs; two sisters, Reba Blackburn of Bel Air, Maryland, Wilma Combs and husband Robert of Sarasota, Florida; one sister-in-law, Leonora Rose of Monkton, Maryland; one special nephew, Larry Blackburn and wife Cathy of Bel Air, Maryland; and numerous other nieces and nephews.

A special thanks to sitters Ronda Lankford, Mary Sims, and Carol Staie who made it possible to keep him at home as long as possible.

Services will be private at Cleveland Memorial Park for the family with Rev. Hazel Boyd officiating.
