Rev. Bobby Gene Weathers, age 81 of Doc Wehunt Rd., died Saturday, October 11, 2014 at Carolina Care Center.  He was born on April 7, 1933 in Gaston County to the lare James Corbett and Minnie Frances Etters Weathers.  Rev. Bobby was a former pastor of Mountain View Freewill Baptist Church and former associate pastor at Belmont Freewill Baptist Church.  He was a Korean War Veteran of the United States Air Force. He enjoyed gardening, motorcycles, spending time with his family, and serving the Lord.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his 1^st wife, Irene Weathers; brother, James Weathers; sister, Dorothy Weathers; and daughter, Bobbie Smith.

 

Survivors include his wife, Eretta Bowen Weathers; sons, Scott Weathers of Belmont, and Douglas Glenn Rogers and wife, Carol of Cherryville; brother, Floyd Weathers of Michigan; grandchildren, Shelby Millwood and husband, Greg of Cliffside, and Emily Philbeck of Forest City; great grandchildren, Justin Millwood, Meredith Parker and husband, Alex, Hannah Millwood, Jonah Millwood, Katelyn Wilson, and Maggie Wilson; and great great grandchild, Zoey Parker.

 

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 13, 2014 at 3:30 PM at Carpenter’s Funeral & Cremation Services with Pastor Scott Stewart officiating.  Burial will be held privately at a later date.  The family will receive friends on Monday from 2:00 to 3:15 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
