Rev. George Judson Kneessi, age 75 of Boyles Rd. passed away Friday, February 9, 2018 at Carolinas Healthcare System - Cleveland. He was born February 17, 1942 in Washington D.C. to the late John Judson Kneessi and Elizabeth Young. George proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and was a Vietnam Veteran. He was a member of the V.F.W., was formerly employed at B.J.'s of Lincolnton, and involved with Blessed Hope Ministries.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Black Kneessi.
George is survived by his children, Tim Kneessi, Terry Kneessi, David Kneessi, and Sherri Bush; special friend and caregiver, Charlene Bridges; and special friends, Jim and Louise Homesley.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Carpenter-Porter Funeral & Cremation Services with Rev. Leonard Bumgardner officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn in Lincolnton with military honors conducted by Cherryville American Legion Post #100 Honor Guard. A gathering of friends will be held on Tuesday from 1:00 to 1:45 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
