He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Ruth Weaver Morrow of Thomasville NC, their children Connie (daughter) and her husband Chip Todd of Monroe, NC, and Rev. R. David Morrow (Son) and his children Stephen and Amanda of Ayden, NC. Additional survivors include his brother Rev. He is preceded in death by his Father and Mother, Mitchell and Lucille Morrow, his Father and Mother in law Ishmael and Nellene Weaver, his brother Hubert and his wife Joanne Morrow and their son Mike, his brother Jimmie Morrow, and Phillip Morrow’s wife Jewel.

Born January 15, 1931 in Catawba, NC, He graduated from Catawba High School, and then served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Upon returning from the war, he graduated from Mars Hill College, Wake Forest University, and South Eastern Seminary. He was Ordained into the Gospel Ministry on May 25th, 1958, and married his bride on July 31st, 1960. Together, they served the congregations of Lawings Chapel (Maiden, NC), Lawndale Baptist Church (Lawndale NC), Prospect Baptist Church (Albemarle, NC), Victory Baptist Church (Thomasville, NC), and Hasty Baptist Church (Thomasville, NC). As a man of God, who believed that ministry should reach beyond Church walls, Rev. Morrow felt a special call to reach out to children and young people and provide aid to families in need. He answered this call by serving at Baptist Children’s Homes of NC between 1980 and 2000.  He served in the capacity of Resident Director at Kennedy Home (Kinston, NC), and as a member of the development department (Thomasville, NC) where he raised funds for the purpose of feeding, clothing, and providing shelter for children in need.

Personally, he enjoyed and valued time with all family and friends. His hobbies were working in the yard and in his flowers, as well as growing vegetables. He was known for his unfailing faith and trust in God, his positive outlook on life, his humor, and his ability make people laugh. Beginning in 2000, he suffered a variety of serious medical issues until the day of his passing. Yet, he never lost his determination and joyful spirit.

Pallbearers will be: R. David Morrow, Chip Todd, Stephen Morrow, Keith Morrow, Tim Morrow, and Travis Johnson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either Baptist Children’s Homes of NC, P.O. Box 338, Thomasville, NC 27361, or The Gideon’s International, P.O. Box 140800, Nashville, TN 37214.
