Richard Dale Mauney, 77, of Southfork Drive, Shelby, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013, at Duke Medical Center.

   A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Bailey Otha and Selma Tucker Mauney. He was predeceased by his wife, Connie Faye Stover Mauney.

   Mr. Mauney was retired from the North Carolina Department of Transportation, where he was equipment superintendent.

   Survivors include his daughter, Karol Dele Mauney Keziah and husband, Michael, of Durham; a son, Richard Timothy Mauney and wife, Donna, of Pawleys Island, SC; grandchildren, Kellie Clary Homovich and husband, Joel, of Dallas, NC and Christopher Thomas Mauney of Kings Mountain; great-granddaughter, Baylee Faye Homovich; and a sister, Martha Mauney Davis of Greensboro.

   A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Lutz-Austell Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be private.
