Richard Darren Ivey, 53, of Shelby, passed away on Tuesday, December 28, 2021.

Born in Rutherford County, on April 28, 1968, he was a son of the late Ottis Luther Ivey and Geneva Hill Ivey. He was a long haul driver and a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brother, Rev. Randy Ivey and sister, Janice Ivey.

He is survived by his three sons, Darren Ivey & wife, Kimberly Thornton of Boiling Springs, Dustin Ivey and Thomas Ivey both of Fallston; two daughters, Kristen Ivey of Gaffney and Kimberly Victoria Ivey and boyfriend Ryan Benson, of Spartanburg; seven grandchildren, Crystal Ivey, Lucas Thornton, Noah Byars, Jaxon Byars, Piper Carson, Quinton Benson, and Kaison Benson.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at 2:00 PM in the Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home Chapel.

The burial will follow the service in the Double Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
