Richard Eugene “Rick” Lankford, age 63 of West Fourth Street, died Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at Kings Mountain Hospice House. Rick was born in Cleveland County on June 22, 1949, the son of the late Willie Robert Lankford, Sr. and Betty Jean Suttle Lankford. He was a retired mechanist and was also preceded in death by a brother Willie Robert “Robby” Lankford, II.
Survivors: Son and daughter in law: Bryant and Lori Lankford, of Cherryville, daughter and son in law: Shannon and Hernan Aguilar, of Cherryville. Brother Terry Lankford of Cherryville. Sister and brother in law: Joann and Randy Thrift of Cherryville. Four Grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00PM Thursday, October 25, 2012 at Cone Memorial Chapel of Carpenter’s Funeral Home with Chaplain Leonard Bumgardner officiating. Burial arrangement will be private.
The family will receive friends from 12:00PM to 12:45PM prior to the memorial service.
