Cherryville - LCDR Richard L. "Dick" Anderson, USN, (Ret), age 83 of Mary's
Grove Road, passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2016 at Carolina Care Center.

Mr. Anderson was born in Toronto, Ohio on February 15, 1933 a son of the
late Glenn Homer Anderson and Helen Perry Anderson. He proudly served his
country and retired as a Lieutenant Commander from the U.S. Navy after 26
years of service.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Jo Eddie
Beam Anderson.

Survivors include two sons, Jon Anderson and Paul Anderson both of Newport
News, Virginia; a daughter, Deborah Jenkins of Hayes, Virginia and a
stepdaughter, Lisa Hawkins of Cherryville; a brother, Wayne Anderson of
Houston, TX; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Saturday, August 13, 2016 from 10:00AM until 11:00AM
at Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home & Cremation Service.

A graveside service will be held at 11:30AM at Mary's Grove United Methodist
Church Cemetery, Kings Mountain.

Military Honors by the U.S. Navy and Cherryville American Legion Post 100
Honor Guard.

Burial will be at Mary's Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery.
