Dr. Richard Swift Reese, 84, of Boiling Springs, NC, went to be with his Lord Thursday, November 25, 2010. Services were held at Boiling Springs Baptist Church. Burial followed in Cleveland Memorial Park.
Dr. Reese served our country in the U.S. Army, in Germany as a demolition expert.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Asa and Kate Reese.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Annie Lucille (Lou) Robertson Reese; 3 daughters, Darlene Bailey of Shelby, NC, Sherrie Reese of Pelham, AL, and Ellen Branson of Charleston, SC; 1 son-in-law, Robert Branson of Charleston, SC; 3 grandchildren; 1 grandson-in-law; 2 brothers, Norman Reese of Conover, NC and Clint Reese of Fuquay-Varina, NC; 4 sisters, Kathleen Reese, Dorcas Hodges and Betty Shoun, all of Vilas, NC, Gladys Shoun of Sylvania, OH; 4 sisters-in-law, Jodie Dugger of Burnsville, NC, Maude Reese of Fuquay-Varina, NC, Brenda Reese of Banner Elk, NC and Barbara Reese of Ringgold, GA; numerous nieces and nephews, and many treasured friends, for whom he was deeply grateful.

Cleveland Funeral Services, Shelby, NC is serving the family.
