Richard Thomas "Tommy" Patterson, age 65 died Friday, August 19, 2016 at his home. Born in Cleveland County on March 2, 1951, he was the son of the late Boyd Spencer and Lois Adams Patterson. Tommy was a veteran of the U. S. Navy. He retired from the Dover Mills as a fixer after more than 30 years of service. Tommy enjoyed hunting and fishing. In addition to his parents, Tommy is preceded in death by his wife, Diane Hayes Patterson; two sisters, Jackie Tankersly and Melinda Patterson; and three brothers, Bobby Patterson, Glenn Patterson, and Kenny Patterson.

Tommy is survived by a brother, Wayne Patterson of Shelby, niece and nephew, Shelbie Patterson and Chase Patterson; special friend, Debbie of Grover; and many other loving nieces and nephews.

The family will have a private service at a later date.
