Mr. Ricky Dean Oates, 62 of Asheville, passed away on Monday, September 20, 2010. A memorial service was held at the home of his brother, Bobby Oates. A private burial was held.
Mr. Oates was preceded in death by his parents, Ray Oates and Ethel Moses Oates.
He is survived by a stepson, Alan Cooke and wife Sandra of Shelby; a step-daughter Deborah Jolly and husband Reid of Boiling Springs; a brother Bobby Oates of Waco; a sister, Louise Burns of Shelby; his former wife, Nancy Oates of Shelby and six step-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Dr., Shelby, NC 28150.
