Robert (Bob) L. Wilkins, Jr.,

Robert (Bob) L. Wilkins, Jr., 69, born August 24, 1952, has been promoted to glory to live for eternity in the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, May 9, 2022. GOD called him home, his work on earth was done.

After graduating high school in 1970, Bob joined the Georgia National Guard and began his career in Christian radio, selling air time and learning all he could about radio station management. He enrolled at Fruitland Bible College where he earned a bachelor's degree.

Bob founded Wilkins Radio Network in 1989, committed to spreading the Gospel through radio, growing to a network of 40 Christian teaching/talk stations. Believing that nothing in the universe was more important than proclaiming the uncompromising truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Bob worked tirelessly to expand and teach through radio the truth of GODS Word.

For 18 years Bob answered GOD'S call to provide for Raju's Orphanage in India. In a Sunday church service Bob learned of Raju's Life Givers Orphanage, and they became life-long friends.

Bob was predeceased by his father, Robert L. Wilkins, his mother, Shirley F. Elton, and his stepfather, Lester A. Elton. He cherished the memory of his beloved grandparents,

Tom and Zennie Wilkins, and Farris and Ada Freeman.

Surviving Bob is his wife LuAnn Wilkins, his three sons, Jared and his wife Kathy and two grandsons, Jacob and his wife Lauren and 1 granddaughter and 3 grandsons and Britton Wilkins.

Bob is also survived by two brothers, Jack Wilkins and his wife Connie, Tyger Elton and his wife Dana, three sisters Cindy Thompson and her husband Larry (deceased), Kim Thomas and her husband Darrell. Pam Radford and her husband Chris (deceased). Many nephews, great-nephews, nieces and great-nieces.

Bob had a big personality and his family is grieving and will miss him, however we know that he is rejoicing in heaven in the presence of family and friends who went before him.

In My Father's house are many rooms; if that were not so, I would have told you, because I am going there to prepare a place for you.

The family will receive friends from 2-3:00PM at Crowe's Mortuary and Chapel, 118 College Ave, Rutherfordton, NC 28139 on Tuesday May 17th 2022. Services will be held following the visitation in the Chapel. Burial will follow at Cool Springs Cemetery, 382 West Main St Forest City, NC 20843.
