Robert Douglas "Bob" Patterson, age 72 of Anthony Grove Rd. passed away Sunday, March 3, 2019 at Atrium Health - Lincoln. He was born November 26, 1946 in Gaston County to the late James Jethro and Velma Mazel Quinn Patterson. He was a member of Anthony Grove Baptist Church and enjoyed working on cars.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his children, Robert Michael Patterson and Mary Michelle Patterson; brothers, Michael Quinn Patterson, Thomas Eugene Patterson, James "Buster" Patterson; and sister, Norma Jean Johnson.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Mary Davis Patterson; son, Steve Patterson; daughter, Tammy Martin and husband, Steve; brother-in-law, Ken Johnson; grandchildren, Matthew Rhodes, Caleb Patterson, Abigail Patterson, Aaron Patterson, Bradley Martin, and Justin Martin, great grandson, Malachi Rhodes; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at 3:00 PM at Anthony Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Dennis Bean and Rev. Ken Faulkenbury officiating. Burial will follow at City Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2:00 to 2:45 PM prior to the service at the church.
