Robert Edward Kendrick, Sr

Robert Edward Kendrick, Sr., 81, died Thursday January 6, 2011, at his son’s home in Shelby.  A native of Richmond County Virginia, he was preceded in death by his parents, Noel Turner and Nellie Mae Johnikin Kendrick,  his loving wife June Kendrick and his sister Minnie Lee James. He was a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church, retired twenty four years as superintendent of Bost Bakery and served with the U.S. Army 101st Airborne Division in the Korean  War.

He is survived by a son Robby E. Kendrick, Jr. wife Karen of Shelby, a daughter Lisa White husband Davi also of Shelby; four grandchildren, Dave White wife Tonya, Dana Scoggin husband Daimon, Jonathan Kendrick, Garry Lee Emory wife Dawna; four great grandchildren, Guy Scoggin, Tyler Allen, McKenna James, Carson Emory.

Funeral service will be at the Chapel of Cecil M Burton Funeral Home and Crematory at 11:00am on Saturday, January 8, 2011.  Burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park with full military honors.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00pm on Friday, January 7, 2011 at Robby Kendrick, Jr. home at 1731 Troy Road, Shelby NC.
