Robert Franklin Lutz, Jr, 70, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2014 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.  Born in Cleveland County, NC, he was the son of Adeline Lineberger Lutz of Spartanburg, SC and the late Robert Franklin Lutz, Sr.   Bob graduated from Western Carolina University.  He is retired from Correll Insurance Group.  Bob was a faithful member of St. James United Methodist Church where he was on the board of trustees, a head usher, an adult Sunday School teacher and youth leader.  He served his community through volunteering for A.W.A.R.E and Mobile Meals on Wheels.  He was a member of the Downtown Sertoma Club where he was the bulletin writer and editor and previously honored as Sertoman of the year.  Bob was the co-founder of Rhythm & Blues Beach Music Hall of Fame.  He loved anything to do with the beach especially Edisto Beach in South Carolina.  He loved to DJ at parties with his collection of beach music.  Bob was a devoted Gamecock fan and member of the Gamecock Club.  He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and enjoyed spending time with his family.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Anne Fortenberry Lutz; children, Robert F. Lutz III and wife Laura and their children, Raven, Frankie, Lily, Dylan and Jude, all of Moore, SC; Spain Lutz and wife Kari and their children, Olivia and William, all of Anderson, SC; Robin Lutz Wright and husband Chris and their children, Lutz, Eli and Eden, all of Roebuck, SC; Jonathan Lutz of Roebuck, SC.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, March, 1, 2014 at St. James United Methodist Church, 213 N. Lanford Road, Spartanburg, SC.  The Rev. Chris Barrett and Rev. Gareth Scott will be officiating.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church gymnasium.
