Robert H. Pace, age 63, of Forest City, NC, died Monday, February 17, 2014 at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.
Born December 10, 1950 in Rutherford County, NC, he was the son of the late Robert Orion Pace and Beatrice Cannon Pace who resides in Forest City. Robert was an Honors Graduate of Isothermal Community College and served in the US Navy for thirty years before his retirement. During his military service he was a veteran of Desert Storm and earned the rank of Radioman Chief Petty Officer. He was a faithful member of New Beginnings Baptist Church of Bostic, where he served as a deacon, church treasurer and many other capacities. He was a true servant of the Lord. He enjoyed working on the computer, woodworking and golfing. Robert loved his family dearly.
Besides his mother, survivors include his wife of almost forty-four years, Earnestine Henderson Pace; son, Robert Pace III and wife, Dawn of Ellenboro; daughter, Melissa Alley and husband, Jody of Forest City; two sisters, Alice Ellis and husband, Mike and Patricia Ferguson all of Forest City. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Jessica Alley, Austin Hensley, Robert Joseph Pace and Millicent Pace along with a number of nieces, nephews and a host of other family members.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at the New Beginnings Baptist Church in Bostic with Reverend Paul Simpson officiating. Interment will follow in Eternal Hills Cemetery with military honors being accorded by the Rutherford County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
