Mr. Robert Henry McKinney 76 of Shelby went to his heavenly home Tuesday June 12, 2018 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center, Shelby NC. He was the son of the late Emmit and Mattie Sue Beason McKinney. He was also preceded in death by his wife Alice Mae Bostic McKinney. He was a member of Gantt's Grove Baptist Church where he played softball on their team. He retired from the Highway Department. He was an avid Yankee's fan and loved spending time with his grandchildren and his great grandchild. He well be truly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his wife and parents he was also preceded in death by a son Michael Todd McKinney.

He is survived by his son Alan Scott McKinney and fiancée Donna Francis, one sister; Carolyn Yelton and husband Johnny of Columbia, SC. Two grandchildren, Katlyn Davis and husband Timothy of Greensboro, NC and Alex McKinney of Kings Mountain, one great grandchild Scarlett Davis.

A gathering of friends and family will be Sunday June 17, 2018 from 2:00 to 3:00 PM at Gantt's Grove Baptist Church, Mooresboro, with the funeral following at 3:00 with Pastor Robert Lane and Pastor Dave Walton officiating. He will be laid to rest in Gantt's Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Mooresboro, NC following the service.
