Blacksburg -- Robert Lewis Thomas, 91, of 171 Moss Farm Road, passed away Tuesday, December 14th, 2021, at his home.

Immediate family includes his wife of 72 years, Estelle Philbeck Thomas, daughter extraordinaire, Susan Thomas Cartee of Blacksburg; a son, Dr. Ron Thomas and wife, Sylvia Mintz Thomas of Clemson, SC; grandson, Jason Cartee and wife, Kristie Keziah Cartee, of Belmont, NC; as well as granddaughters, Hannah Cartee Britt and husband, David, of Raleigh, NC and Mimi Thomas of Greenville, SC. Great-grandchildren include Austin Cartee of Wilmington, NC Boone Cartee of Shelby, NC, Charisma Britt and Dylan Britt of Raleigh, NC, and Jasie Cartee of Belmont, NC; and a sister, Edith Hager, of Huntersville, NC.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.

Mr. Thomas previously worked as a carpenter, retired from Overnite, and was a member of Buffalo Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 18th, 2021, from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm at Buffalo Baptist Church. Memorial services will immediately follow at 2:00 pm with Dr. Bruce Price officiating.
