Robert "Phil" Phillip Weaver age 63 went to be with the Lord on April 2, 2015 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.

Born in Cleveland County on January 23, 1952, he was the son of Charles William and Mary "Sue" Beattie Weaver of Shelby. Phil was an active member of Buffalo Baptist church where he formerly served as a Sunday School teacher, sang in the choir, taught church training, and served on the deacon board. He attended Western Carolina for a year before serving the U. S. Navy during the Vietnam Conflict. Phil was a loyal employee of 36 years for the McGuire Nuclear power plant with Duke Energy where he served as a nuclear operator, supervisor, and nuclear instructor. He gave generously to his family and put himself last. Phil's life was his family and he was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, son and brother. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, golfer and reader.

Phil is preceded in death by his daughter, Wendy Weaver Jamison.
In addition to his parents, Phil is survived by those he loved and adored, his wife of 43 years, Kathy Hoyle Weaver; two daughters, Danielle Whitaker and husband Scott of Cherryville, and Nichole Hamrick and husband Andy of Shelby; a sister, Terry Weaver Milam and husband Joel of Rocky Point; two brothers, Ricky Weaver and wife Debbie, and Billy Weaver and wife Lisa all of Shelby. Six grandchildren, Alex Jamison, Phillip Jamison, Daniel Whitaker, Hailey Hamrick, Eliza Hamrick, and Anais Hamrick; and many other loving family and friends.
Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday April 5, 2015 at 4:00 pm at Buffalo Baptist Church with Rev. Max Turner Jr. and Rev. Sam Snyder officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Military Honors. The family will receive friends on Saturday April 4, 2015 at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
